Questions From the Box
What kind of activity is this?
This activity is one that is based on content. You must understand the characters and know how to use the Internet. Differentiated instruction was used because it was explained to use verbally and we had the instructions right in from of use. Also we where allowed to use each other so someone that didn't understand was able to us each other to get the information. Also heterogeneous grouping was used there where people in the group that had just seen the play for the first time and there where people that had done all of the extra created read the play and studied the characters. There where groups that knew more about the technology that needed to be used and others that knew less. The abilities in the group varied.
This activity is an example of multimedia learning. The activity forces the learners to not only understand the characters and play through words but through pictures and music. Students could see in picture what the clothing of the time and what they play somewhat looked like through the picture. When it comes to the music it forces that student to associate the content with something other than word but music that they are familiar with and listen to often.

How does it challenge you?
This challenged me because it took me out of my element to some extent. I believe that i am one of those students that knows how to do school but this is not just school this has more involved. You have to use information other than just what is present on paper to get the assignment accomplished. You have to use the music you listen to. I think that for me this was somewhat difficult for me to do. You are forced to show others what you personally enjoy and in a class sometimes students feel that is is hard to do, that sharing what they personally enjoy is not what they should do.

Who is our "audience" and what do they like? What kind of music, images, sounds?
I believe when this is said we are talking about our "audience" when it comes to the collaborative effort that we are doing with the theater department. If this is correct our "audience is students of all kind. Students with LD, ED, IDD, and GT. Our job is to find a way to engage all of them with the activities in which we choose.
Children in this age I believe often enjoy what is common in popular culture. They enjoy seeing images that help them relate to what we are talking about at the specific time. I believe they enjoy images that that help them understand something before they read. This make me think of when i was working with a student the other day during my learn and serve. The teacher asked me to work with him one on one and read a story with him. I asked him to open up the book, one that he had never seen before, and start reading. The first thing that he said to me was that he wanted to go through a picture walk, by this he meant that he wanted to go through the story to look at all the picture to get a better idea of what he was about to read.

PODCAST PERFECTION

What kind of activity is this?
This activity is differentiated learning and a multimedia activity. It is differentiated learning because although we where all doing our own podcast we where working together as a group. There where some of us that have done podcasts and others that haven't before. Also we all had different types of computers. We had to work together and with one another in order to figure out how to do the podcast and also how to upload it onto our blog. The abilities with technology varied in the group.
This is a multimedia activity because it forced us to use other sources other than just paper and pencil. Also in order to do a podcast you do not have to just use one specific source. There are many different programs on the Internet that can be used and some will work better for some that others.

How does it challenge you?
This is a challenge for many different ways. One being that me and many others find it very embarrassing to talk to the screen and tape yourself. This is also embarrassing because you know that it will be on the Internet for all to see. I know that everyone is not looking at my blog very interested about what i am writing about but it is still a little nerving knowing that people can see what i have said, look like, and judge what i have done.
For students with LD, ED, IDD, and GT i can see how in some of these situations this could be a very positive assignment or technique to use. If a student is not able to write or use their fine motor skills then they can show their understanding and creativity by taking on a podcast. This shows that they have still received the information it is just not possible for them to write out what they learned.

What background knowledge are you using to complete this activity?
In order to complete this activity there is a few things that one needs to know. First being a story has to be completed. You have to have five pictures and create a story using these five pictures. So one has to have the knowledge of being able to create a story with a beginning middle and end. Also the knowledge of how to create a podcast has to be embedded.

METAPHOR MADNESS

What kind of activity is this?

This activity was one of modeling or mirroring. We where given an example and them followed then interpreted the first into our own ideas. It is like follow the leader. Once seeing what is expected of us we then went on to complete the activity.

How does it challenge you?
For me i was challenged doing this activity because I am a person how likes to write a lot. It was very challenging for me to fit five different points in these hearts. It was difficult for me to summarize the ideas into a few words rather than long sentences. It was challenges a person because you have to outline the idea and make it meaningful in only five basic points. A very big disability with many dimensions being outline in only five points is difficult. It is a challenge in itself to pick the points that are most important.

What background knowledge are you using to complete this activity?
The background knowledge that is being used in order to complete the activity is everything that we have learned throughout reading the text. It is important to take everything that we know about the disabilities and pick what is most important and put them into a shape that would be meaningful to others.

How much do you love this Blackboard compared to the other Blackboard?
This blackboard is so much better than the other blackboard for so many reasons. One being that it can not malfunction, it will always be their to work and will never let you down. Also you can follow it very easily meaning that it is just a board that is black that you can write on, it will never lead you astray. It also does not involve technology at all and this is the best thing of my life. There are so many reasons why this is better than the other blackboard it would take me years to write them all out.
